Almost There

All roads lead to nowhere.

You wake up in places that feel like home — only they never finish the story.
A humming fan, a locked door, a collapsing staircase… every time you fix something, you find yourself back at the beginning.

Almost There is a short, atmospheric puzzle-journey about memory, repetition, and the tiny choices that change a loop — even if they don’t end it.

What to Expect

  • 4 compact, playable micro-levels
  • Simple, bite-sized gameplay: observe, act, fail, remember, try again
  • Minimalist prototype visuals and atmospheric audio
  • Short, focused sessions — built for quick runs and looping back

Gameplay

Each scene begins with a déjà vu — a vision of failure. You play it once, always fail, then wake up again with that knowledge. Interact with objects, time your moves, and seek help from a strange creature that appears to guide you through the loop. The goal is simple: get a little closer each time.

Controls

  • WASD / Arrow Keys — Move
  • Space — Jump
  • E — Interact / Use
  • Esc — Pause / Menu

Aesthetic & Scope

The game embraces an intentionally unfinished, prototype-like look — furnitures, silhouettes, and simple geometry stand in for familiar objects. The goal isn’t realism, but recognition and atmosphere. This roughness mirrors the theme: no matter how hard you try, some things remain incomplete.

Playtime

Approximately 4–7 minutes for a first run.
Built for short sessions.

Notes

Developed in 5 days as a personal jam project.
Focused on tone, pacing, and subtle storytelling through space.
Best experienced with headphones.

“No matter how close you get... you’re never really there.”

A quiet, unfinished world. One last try before the loop resets.
